The Invitation They May Be Waiting For

We often hear people say, “I wish my kids would come back to church,” or “I wish my family went to Mass.” But there’s an important question we sometimes forget to ask: When was the last time we actually invited them?

It’s easy to assume our children, siblings, friends, or neighbors know they are welcome. We may think, they know where the church is, or they know what time Mass is. But knowing they can come isn’t the same as knowing you want them there with you.

An invitation doesn’t have to be complicated. “Want to come to Mass with me Sunday? We can grab breakfast afterward.” That simple question may open a door that has been closed for years. And don’t be discouraged by a “no.” Keep loving! Keep praying! And every once in a while, keep inviting.

Someone you love may be waiting for a reason to come back. Maybe that reason is you!!
