REFLECTION
Slow down. Cut down on simple pleasures such as television, social media, etc., to make more room for God. A few additional minutes of silence a day will draw us closer to God . Reflect on how you are living your life. What is God calling you to do at this point in your life? God speaks to us in silence.
REPENTANCE
Repentance means to change the way one thinks. Do you need to change how you think about faith and about God? Do you have a mature, adult faith, having left behind a childlike faith? Do you need to change how you think about people of races, cultures, faiths, or lifestyles different than your own? Are there family members or friends you need to think about differently? Do you need to think differently about money or possessions, or joining a service organization?
RECONCILIATION
Lent is a special time to restore our relationship with God and those with whom we have a broken relationship. Acknowledge our sinful behavior and change that behavior . Turn to God in the Sacrament of Reconciliation or to people with whom we need to be reconciled. One way we may want to work on is our broken relationship is our sins of omission when it comes to serving those in need. What relationships require healing?
Participation in our Family of Parishes Lenten program: Lent Quest, Kids Coalition Against Hunger; and a Lenten reflection on the Holy Eucharist by Fr. Joe Malia, will help us live these 3R’s. Read about them in your parish bulletin or websites and join the community as we grow as Disciples Unleashed this Lent!
