Faith That Crosses Oceans

I was a second grade student when I had the desire to be a priest after witnessing a wonderful holy and joyful priest being our pastor. When I joined the seminary after my 10th grade, I was asked this question: what sort of priest I wanted to be in the future? My answer to that question was that I wanted to be the missionary priest.

Thanks to my catechism teacher and my mom through whom I learned about many saints and missionary priests who came from western countries to our country particularly St. John de Britto, I was so inspired by his life journey filled with faith and desire to proclaim the gospel to the unknown world. I developed the desire to become a missionary priest after knowing this amazing saint.

As I serve this great nation as a missionary priest myself, I realized one thing : God places some people in our life for a reason to set our goals, to shape ourselves for the future, to achieve our purposes. the happiness and the joy of serving that I saw in that priest, sharing of God’s blessing in the form of knowledge that my catechism teacher expressed, the simple yet very strong faith that i saw in my mother is what led me to cross the oceans to share my faith so those who are reading this article know that God is shaping you through the people who are in your life to cross the oceans of your doubts, painful experiences, addictions, and desires of this world to be his missionaries of love, peace and forgiveness.
