Epiphany reminds us that the star did not simply guide the Magi to a place; it led them to a person—a very special person! Imagine the wonder and awe that the Magi experienced in the presence of the infant Lord Jesus, after their long journey, knowing that this precious babe was the true King of all.
In the first reading, Isaiah promises, “Then you shall be radiant at what you see,” not because the people produced their own light but because they beheld the glory of God. Rather than concluding in certainty or comfort, the Magi’s journey ended with an encounter in a lowly manger. In the same way, Epiphany invites us to notice where, within our own hearts, we are still traveling through dark and lowly places. Think of the shadowy areas where you could be waiting for God’s radiance to break through: patches of fear, uncertainty, restlessness, or even shame. Offer the darkness to Jesus in prayer, asking Him to shine into these hidden corners. His love and radiant light are far greater than any of the lowest points of our lives. He is waiting for you to gaze upon Him during this season of light!
