Can You Imagine?

Can you imagine a parish where people don’t just come to church—they come alive in church?

Can you imagine walking through the doors and being met by a wave of smiles, warm greetings, and the sense that something good is about to happen?

Can you imagine a church filled with people who don’t just believe in Jesus but actually follow Him with their time, their talents, and their hearts?

That’s the kind of vision some of our Family of Parishes team including myself encountered at the Rebuilt Conference in Timonium, Maryland—a national gathering focused on reimagining what church can be. What stood out most wasn’t a fancy program or a polished speaker, it was their church family (nearly 700 of them!) serving joyfully, intentionally, and with purpose. Every volunteer we met knew they had a role to play in making church better and being Church to the unchurched. They weren’t just spectators. They were disciples on mission…and it was contagious. It made us ask, “what if this could be us?”

Because the truth is, church isn’t meant to be a place where we sit and watch. It’s meant to be a place where we grow, give, and go out into our families, our workplaces, and our communities as witnesses of Christ. So… can you imagine our parish like that?

If you’re already serving in a ministry, thank you! You’re already helping make this vision a reality. Maybe this summer is your chance to try something new, stretch into a new role, or even invite someone else to serve alongside you. You never know how one invitation might spark someone’s faith.

If you’re not yet involved, there’s never been a better time to jump in. Whether it’s greeting at Mass, helping with tech, working with kids, or joining a team behind the scenes, there’s a place for you.
