Hope Doesn’t Stay in the Tomb

Easter Sunday might be over—but Easter isn’t. In fact, the Church gives us eight full days to celebrate the joy of the Resurrection in what’s called the Octave of Easter. That’s how important this moment is. Jesus is alive, and that changes everything—not just for one day, but for every day.

So how do we carry Easter forward this week? How do we keep the celebration going in small, real-life ways? Here are a few simple ideas:

  1. Do something joyful, on purpose Schedule it. Make time for it. Whether it’s music, laughter, time outside, or a quiet moment with someone you love—celebrate the goodness of life this week. Easter joy deserves more than one Sunday.
  2. Speak words that build people up The risen Jesus didn’t return with blame or bitterness—He came with peace. Let your words this week reflect that same peace. A quick compliment or kind note can bring Easter joy into someone else’s day.
  3. Live like something new is possible The tomb is empty. That means whatever felt final… isn’t. This week, take one small step toward something you’ve been putting off—healing a relationship, starting something new, or choosing a better way forward.

Easter isn’t just something we remember—it’s something we live. So let’s keep walking in the light of the Resurrection. Because hope didn’t stay in the tomb… and neither should we.
