As you celebrate graduations with family and friends, it can be challenging to think of the right words or advice to share especially as it relates to our faith. So whether they are continuing their education, starting a new job, or exploring other exciting opportunities, these timeless truths can serve as a beacon to light their way. Feel free to share!
1. Trust in the Plan Set For You
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.” – Proverbs 3:5
As graduates face the uncertainties of post-graduate life, help them remember that they are never alone. Faith teaches us to trust that there is a divine plan in place for each of us. Help them to embrace their journey with confidence and open-mindedness, knowing that each step they take is part of a larger, orchestrated path that is uniquely theirs.
2. Serve Others Generously
“For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve…” – Mark 10:45
One of the best ways you can help them manifest their faith is through service to others. As they embark on this new chapter, encourage them to look for ways to contribute positively to their communities. Whether through their career, volunteer work, or simple daily interactions, push them to strive to make service a cornerstone of their lives. The joy and fulfillment from helping others will enrich their spirits and deepen their connections.
3. Cultivate Resilience through Faith
“And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.” – Galatians 6:9
Life after graduation will not be without its challenges. Remind them that when they encounter obstacles or setbacks, lean on their faith to find strength and resilience. Help them remember that each difficulty is an opportunity to grow and that persistence, underpinned by faith, will lead them to the rewards waiting on the other side of adversity.
Pass this message along and encourage the graduates in you life to really take these pieces of advice to heart and let them feel inspired to live a life filled with purpose, service, and faith. We are immensely proud of all of the graduates in our Family of Parishes in what they have accomplished so far, and we are excited to see where their faith and your abilities will take them as we know you are too.
